Specializing in historic reproductions, Seaquay Architectural Millwork is a custom manufacturer of wooden windows and doors. Our Products are manufactured to meet or exceed the specifications identified by the design professionals on each of the projects we produce. Seaquay employs state-of-the-art CADD technology for engineering and design. Seaquays manufacturing process combines old world style craftsmanship, with computer aided CNC manufacturing, to create historically sensitive and accurate products that set standards for air infiltration, water penetration and design pressure in the our industry.
Scope of Project:
The restoration of the exterior facade of
one of the oldest buildings on the campus of
Construction:
Working closely with the client, shop drawings were produced showing the
details necessary to fabricate the windows to there original design using
1/2" insulated glass as the glazing medium. The sash were manufactured to
a thickness of 1-3/4". The sash were milled to receive the hardware for a
weights and chains installation as per the clients requirements. The sash were
constructed with an additional 1/4" in height to allow the scribing of the
bottom rail in the event the existing openings were not square. The original
weights and chain balancing system was reused. The sash were manufactured from
Northeast White Pine. The sash were treated with a preservative, Water
repellent. Prior to glazing the sash were primed.
